{"id":78,"date":"2021-12-28T13:36:02","date_gmt":"2021-12-28T13:36:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/frontendguruji.com\/?p=78"},"modified":"2021-12-30T11:06:26","modified_gmt":"2021-12-30T11:06:26","slug":"warn-npm-does-not-support-node-js-v16-13-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/frontendguruji.com\/blog\/warn-npm-does-not-support-node-js-v16-13-1\/","title":{"rendered":"WARN npm does not support Node.js v16.13.1"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Hello Friends &#x1f64f;, today I was trying to run the <strong>npm init<\/strong> command and got below warnings<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img width=\"722\" height=\"87\" src=\"http:\/\/frontendguruji.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-79\" srcset=\"https:\/\/frontendguruji.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/image.png 722w, https:\/\/frontendguruji.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/image-300x36.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 722px) 100vw, 722px\" \/><figcaption><span style=\"color:#cccccc\" class=\"has-inline-color\">npm WARN npm npm does not support Node.js v16.13.1<br>npm WARN npm You should probably upgrade to a newer version of node as we<br>npm WARN npm can&#8217;t make any promises that npm will work with this version.<br>npm WARN npm Supported releases of Node.js are the latest release of 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12.<br>npm WARN npm You can find the latest version at https:\/\/nodejs.org\/<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I thought it may be due to older node package installed on system, So installed current latest node package from <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/nodejs.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/nodejs.org\/<\/a> which is v16.13.1 but sill got warning &#x26a0; to upgrade to a newer version of node&#x1f622; .  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then I checked the node and npm versions on my machine by running below commands<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>node -v \/\/v16.13.1\nnpm -v  \/\/6.5.0<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Checked on node website and found that  node v16.13.1  ships with npm 8.1.2 &#x1f914;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img width=\"438\" height=\"167\" src=\"http:\/\/frontendguruji.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/image-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-82\" srcset=\"https:\/\/frontendguruji.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/image-2.png 438w, https:\/\/frontendguruji.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/image-2-300x114.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 438px) 100vw, 438px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Now i tried updating npm using below command but got errors &#x1f610;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img width=\"768\" height=\"351\" src=\"http:\/\/frontendguruji.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/image-4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-84\" srcset=\"https:\/\/frontendguruji.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/image-4.png 768w, https:\/\/frontendguruji.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/image-4-300x137.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>&#x1f973; Finally I got the solution:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4>Issue: Installed latest node package but npm version is showing older version?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4>Solution: Follow below steps and &#x1f389;&#x1f973;<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Navigate to C:\\Users\\&lt;your user name&gt;\\AppData\\Roaming<\/li><li>Delete npm &amp;
